The future of architecture, at the Milan Furniture Show
From 16 a 21 of April, eyes turn to Milan. Known as the capital of design and fashion, the city opens its doors for the 62nd edition of the Milan Furniture Show (Furniture expo), the world's leading interior and design fair. The event will feature more than 1900 exhibitions and participation of 30% of foreign brands. A Eliane Ceramic Tiles will cover the event.
This year's themes were presented by the president of the Milan Furniture Show, Maria Porro, which revealed as the main keywords of this edition: innovation, evolution and sustainability. The questioning: “Where Design Evolves” (Where Design Evolves, in free translation) brings the idea of more comprehensive awareness about the impact of climate change, as well as a look at creative solutions that design can offer.

“Neuroscience, artificial intelligence, new formats and cultural projects [are elements] that embrace multidisciplinary coherence and also create environments for visionary reflections and installations”, stated Maria Porro during the press conference.
The pavilions feature a new shelving distribution layout and neuroscience tools to improve the visitor experience. The objective is to make the journey more intelligent and intuitive for the public.

One of the highlights of the fair is the project “Under the Surface”, created by Accurat design agencies, Design Group Italia and Salotto NY, that reflects on sustainability and technology, in an installation that invites you to think about the consumption of natural resources and the conscious use of water.

Another installation that promises to attract a lot of attention is the project signed by filmmaker David Lynch, O “Thinking Rooms” (Thinking Rooms). The North American participates in the fair by creating two spaces that connect and provoke the public to imagine the interiors in a more original and stimulating way.
